In lieu of our normal Morning Brew Workshop, for August, the Blue Sky team invites you to join us as we volunteer our time for the 15th Annual United Way Day of Caring.
This year’s project is Pond Restoration at Sunset Hill Farm County Park in Valparaiso. The team will be removing invasive plants and replanting native species.
The day kicks off with a free breakfast from 8am – 9am at the Urschel Pavilion in downtown Valpo. Volunteers also get a free t-shirt to remember the day. If you are interested in spending your morning volunteering with us, please call our office at (219) 548-9370 for more details.
This is a great team-building event. Together, we can accomplish great things for nonprofits in Northwest Indiana!
Grab your partner, put on your boots and y’all mosey on over to our Bluegrass Hog-Wild Hoedown.
We’re getting ready for a really big shindig!
Each year, Blue Sky Financial hosts an evening of music, food and fun for you, our valued clients. For 2017, we’re exchanging our tuxedos and long dresses for jeans, cowboy boots and our best western getups. We’re gonna’ whoop it up and have a foot stompin’ good time!
Held at the Butterfield Pavilion on the corner of Calumet Avenue and Evans Avenue in Valparaiso, the evening begins with a mouth-watering hog roast dinner with all the fixin’s, catered by Birky Family Farms. And just as you’re settling into your seat to dig in, you’ll enjoy the foot tapping tunes of Special Consensus, a Grammy-nominated bluegrass band. Their music will get your toes tapping and your hands clapping.
We’ve got dancing, flatfooting and some special entertainment scheduled during the band’s break but we can’t let the cat out of the bag (or the horse out of the barn) on that one. You’ll just have to be there to experience it in person!
If you haven’t already made your reservations for the FREE event, give us a call right away at 219-548-9370. Our last two events were sold-out and you don’t want to be on the outside looking in. Be sure to invite your friends. We’d love to welcome them too.
Join us on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 10:00am at the Dish Restaurant for our Morning Brew Workshop with guest speaker, Stu Walesh, PhD, PE, a consultant, teacher and author. Based on what science has learned about the brain in recent years, Stu will explain the basics of how your brain–the three-pound marvel between your ears–works. You’ll learn ways to use basic brain knowledge to enhance your life. He’ll discuss making better use of your time, changing a bad habit to a good habit, circumventing negativity bias, setting and achieving goals, generating ideas, and finally, caring for your brain. Stu’s excellent summary handout will give you the tools to apply these “brain basics” to your life.
We expect this to be a capacity crowd, so please make your reservations early and bring a friend! Call 219-548-9370 today.

We’ve had such an amazing year already and it’s hard to believe we are even thinking about December, but we want to finish the year out by seeing all your smiling faces at our Holiday Open House. Instead of a Morning Brew Workshop in December, we invite you to stop by our office for a hot cocoa bar, an ornament exchange, and a few extra special surprises. As always, we encourage you to bring a friend!
